  • 1 Original Milk Fondue can (215 g)
  • 500 ml (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 10 ml (2 tsp.) baking powder
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp.) baking soda
  • 1.25 ml (1/4 tsp.) salt
  • 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) vanilla extract
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) canola oil
  • 180 ml (3/4 cup) milk

For the frosting:

  • 1 Dulce de Leche Fondue can (215 g)
  • 2 packages of cream cheese (250 g each), softened
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) butter, at room temperature
  • 250 ml (1 cup) icing sugar
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp.) cocoa powder

To decorate the cake:

  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) sprinkle mix
  1. Follow the instructions on the package to heat the Milk Chocolate Fondue.
  2. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  3. In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. In a second bowl, beat the granulated sugar with the eggs, vanilla and oil for 2–3 minutes using an electric mixer.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and stir until well combined.
  6. Line the bottom of three 20 cm (8”) round baking pans with parchment paper. Divide the batter between the pans.
  7. Pour the fondue into the pans, making a circular motion. Using a large wooden skewer, swirl the batter around to obtain a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 18–20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the centre of a cake comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool. Un-mould the cakes and place them on a wire rack.
  9. For the frosting. Follow the instructions on the package to heat the Dulce de Leche Fondue.
  10. In a third bowl, beat the cream cheese with the butter, icing sugar and cocoa powder with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually pour half the fondue into the bowl and whisk until mixture is smooth.
  11. To assemble the cake. Place one cake on a serving platter. Cover with a third of the frosting. Top with a second cake, then cover with half of the remaining frosting. Top with the last cake, then cover with the rest of the frosting. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  12. Heat the rest of the fondue in a double boiler pot, or microwave in a bowl, until it melts. Pour the fondue over the cake.
  13. Decorate with sprinkles.
