Strawberry and chocolate dessert pizza

For homemade pizza dough (see note)

  • 3/4 cup (180 mL) warm water
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) sea salt
  • 2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour

For cooking pizza dough

  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) granulated sugar

To serve

For homemade pizza dough

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on the surface of the water and let stand without mixing for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the olive oil and salt and sea and mix with a fork. Add 1 cup (250 mL) of flour and fork until the flour is incorporated and the mixture is sticky.
  3. Add 1/2 cup (125 mL) of flour and knead into the dough. Transfer the dough to a floured work surface with the remaining flour. Knead 5 to 7 minutes, until all the flour is incorporated and the dough is smooth and supple (add more flour if the dough is too sticky).
  4. Transfer the dough to a large oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let stand for 90 minutes in a temperate place.

For cooking the pizza dough

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 °F (225 °C). Cover a pizza or baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. With your hands or with a floured rolling pin, spread or roll the pizza dough into a 30-cm (12-inch) circle. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the batter with melted butter, then sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the dough is swollen and golden brown.

To serve

  1. Prepare the Chocolats Favoris Noisette Croquante fondue following the instructions on the box. Peel and slice the strawberries.
  2. Generously spread on the warm pizza dough with Chocolats Favoris fondue. Garnish with fresh strawberries, then drizzle the remaining fondue over the strawberries. Garnish with roasted hazelnuts and serve immediately.

Note: To make this recipe faster, you can use a ball of commercially prepared pizza dough. You can even replace the pizza dough with naan breads for effortless preparation!
