The Easiest Chocolate Mousse
This recipe is a classic that is both easy to make and delicious.
Makes 8 servings
- For the chocolate mousse
- 1 can (215 g) Chocolats Favoris Original Dark Fondue (see note)
- 1 3/4 cups (430 ml) heavy cream (35% m.f.)
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) Chocolats Favoris Choco Crème beverage (optional)
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings
- For the chocolate mousse: Melt the Chocolats Favoris Original Dark Fondue according to the packaging instructions. Stir the fondue until smooth, then transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Warm 1/2 cup (125 ml) of the heavy cream until simmering. Whisk the cream into the fondue, then whisk in the Chocolats Favoris Choco Crème beverage, if using. Set aside.
- In a large, clean bowl, beat the remaining heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Using a spatula, mix the whipped cream into the fondue mixture a third of the quantity at a time, gently folding to avoid deflating the cream (do not beat or whisk).
- Transfer the chocolate mousse into small glasses or ramekins. Refrigerate at least 1 hour, or up to 24 hours, before serving. If desired, garnish with a spoonful of whipped cream and some chocolate shavings, then serve.
Note: You can substitute any Chocolats Favoris fondue flavor in this recipe. We recommend choosing a fondue with a smooth texture (without ground nuts or cookies) to get a deliciously silky texture.
